About Oak & Iron Kits

About Oak & Iron Kits

Oak & Iron Kits sells custom barndominium kits across all 50 states — and builds them move-in ready for the roughly nine in ten buyers who can’t raise a steel shell themselves. You come to us for a kit; we hand back a finished, code-built home.

What we do

What does Oak & Iron Kits do?

We sell custom steel barndominium kits nationwide and finish them turnkey for the buyers who can’t build the shell themselves. Every building starts as an engineered steel shell — frame, roof, wall panels, and hardware, delivered to your site. If you have the crew and the time, you can build it out yourself.

Most people don’t — so we deliver turnkey through a qualified contractor network, handling the slab, erection, trades, and full interior finish as one coordinated process. Kits ship nationally on day one; turnkey runs wherever our contractor coverage reaches.

The difference

Do you sell stock floor plans?

No — every layout is designed around how you actually live, never pulled off a shelf. Your living space, your shop, your porch, engineered for your site and your county’s code. That’s the line between us and the stock-plan sellers: their plan is fixed, yours is drawn for you.

Who’s behind it

Who’s behind Oak & Iron Kits?

Oak & Iron Kits is operated by American Iron, LLC — the company that runs the backend turning a kit into a finished home: in-house plan design, a lender network, land agents, and the qualified contractors who build turnkey on the ground.

That’s why one brand can sell the kit, design the plan, and coordinate the build — the steel, the drawings, and the crews all trace back to a single operation.

Who we build for

Who do you build for?

Owner-minded buyers building on rural and exurban acreage — not in city cores. Homesteads, family homes with a shop, starter places, and live-in workshops. We earn our place by being genuinely useful to the owner- and budget-minded buyer across the country: honest pricing, and plans built for the way that buyer actually lives.
